This Panettone Bread Pudding is the perfect cozy holiday dessert or brunch to share with family and friends. It's warm, custardy and super easy to make!
Optional grated zest of 1 orange and/or mini dark chocolate chips
Garnish Optional
Icing sugar, maple syrup, vanilla ice cream or yogurt
Instructions
Slice the panettone bread into cubes, approximately into 2 inch / 5cm cubes, then add them to a large baking dish that has been sprayed lightly with olive oil spray
In a large bowl, crack in the eggs and whisk. Then add the milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and orange zest if you are using it. Whisk all ingredients together until well combined
Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes and ensure all pieces are submerged into the mixture, if adding chocolate chips add them now too. Allow to rest for 30-45 minutes so that the panettone can absorb the custardIn the meantime, preheat oven to 180°C/350℉
Place the baking dish in the oven for 30-35 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the middle has setYou can check this by sticking a toothpick in the middle. It should be soft and custardy, but not wet
Remove from the oven, allow it to cool and set for 5-10 minutes. Dust with icing sugar, slice into squares, and enjoy your delicious Panettone Bread Pudding! Optional, serve with a spoon of yogurt or vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of maple syrup or your favorite sweet sauce…YUM!
